plastiq—’Interstation’ OUT 17/12/2021

The LP ‘Interstation’ juxtaposes and unites in situ improvisations made at Fleetstreet Theatre Hamburg over a span of two months in autumn 2019. With ‚Interstation’, all collaborationists — by name: Macio Moretti & Piotr Zabrodzki from LXMP, Bianca Peruzzi, Dor Aloni, Tian Rotteveel, Christopher Hotti Böhm & Philip Theurer & Zooey Agro from 13 Year Cicada, René Huthwelker, Raphaela Andrade Cordova & Lena Geue & Luka Lenzin from plastiq — outwit time and physics. While Boris Vogeler steered the current of sound at Roter Raum Studio, Kmi Koni went in search of artifacts in distant terrains, erecting the imagery on the sleeve. And so the project evolved. It still does. Right at this moment Manque La Banca projects the lost light of Ophiuchus onto your eyelids. Now hear Gesa Geue and Saliou Cissokho intone the forgotten tale of the ecliptic snake.

‘Interstation’—edited in a manner of cut-up and collage by Luka Lenzin (Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8) and Raphaela Andrade Cordova (Track 6)—is out via Gandula, the record label and D.I.Y. family:

Multilink to ‘Interstation’, the album:

What you can see on the album cover/vinyl sleeve is a huge hand-built planet with a special landmark for every track on the album. Kmi Koni did the artwork and this is how they describe their process: On a trip in the mountains looking for special objects that remind me of another unknown planet that i visited once Listening to the sounds of the red earth, I managed to connect these collected amulets on the map Coincidences are always signs Each element that appears in this camouflaged texture represents a track of the silver sun that I imagine on the planet Plastiq. Ships and creatures live there.
